clean two stroke combustion
r e v i f l o w
Semi-dormant project
Two stroke combustion is assumed to dirty - and generally is using a conventional combustion cycle and valve arrangement.
As inventor of the CLP - compact linked piston engine - I needed a clean two stroke cycle because the linked piston arrangement has relatively heavy pistons. Relatively heavy pistons upscales loadings - with pistons developing an incredible @2000G under load.
However, with a two stroke cycle, the heavy linked piston is able usefully compress the opposing chamber, whilst cushioning piston travel - unloading the piston and crank - almost like a free piston.
Combining a CLP with a clean two stroke creates synergy resulting in a one stroke engine - an internal combustion engine holy grail.

soon to be finally applied?
Necessity is the mother of invention, and after studying all the various cycles in 2003-4, what makes them clean, what makes them dirty, a new breathing valve and cycle was proposed to give the clean burn of the four stroke, in a two stroke cycle .
Unfortunately, despite preparing these ideas for launch in 2006, after experiencing three large problems beyond my control in 2004-2008, I was unable to pursue this project further and in addition, all funding applications were rejected.
In 2014 new applications have been made to apply the one stroke engine in the Navig Aero Atlantic Ranger aircraft.
